Pastor Dwayne Bond is an elder and serves as the Lead Pastor, Teaching Pastor, and Visionary of Wellspring Church. As a native of the Washington DC area, he and his family relocated to Charlotte to plant Wellspring in 2006. After settling into the city, Pastor Bond, along with the plant team, launched Wellspring in March 2007. In January 2007, he became a member of Acts 29 Church Planting Network in which he currently functions as the Charlotte Area Coordinator.
Prior to receiving a Ph.D. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2014, Pastor Bond also graduated from Capital Bible Seminary (M.A. in Christian Counseling & Discipleship), Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A. in Religion) and University of Maryland (B.S. in Finance). In addition to pastoring, he has a passion for equipping the next generation of Biblical counselors. For over ten years, he has served as an Adjunct Professor within seminaries. Currently, he is teaching in the Pastoral Counseling Department of Liberty University.
He has been married over twenty-five years to his beautiful wife Leslie and has three wonderful children. He enjoys reading, writing, traveling, gardening, cooking, basketball, ping-pong, billiards, vegan food, entnrepreneurship, and having fun. He looks forward to meeting you.
Pastor Bobby serves as an elder at Wellspring and has oversight of Technology, Finance and Facilities. He is also a member of the preaching team. Pastor Bobby and his wife Frances are originally natives of Maryland and moved to Charlotte in 2005 from Portland, Oregon. They both completed their undergraduate education in Computer Science at the University of Maryland Baltimore County before heading to the University of Michigan to complete Master Degrees in Computer Science & Engineering. Outside of Wellspring, Pastor Bobby serves as CTO and Chief Evangelist for a cloud computing firm . His passions are running, lifting weights, reading, spending time with family and encouraging college students & young adults to pursue God’s will for their lives. Bobby and Frances have been married for nearly 20 years and reside in Charlotte with their two elementary-aged children.
Deacon Greg leads our Music and UpClose ministries. He also leads a Gospel Community Group in the University area with the support of his wife Nicole.
Pastor Fred Ely is an elder and has responsibility for local and global missions and for administration at Wellspring. Fred is the Vice President for SIM USA, an international mission agency based in Charlotte, and has been with SIM for 37 years. Over that time period he has worked in SIM USA’s home office in a variety of roles including financial development, operations and mobilization. Fred’s parents were also missionaries with SIM and Fred grew up in Ethiopia. Even though Fred is based in the US he has visited many of SIM’s ministries in Africa, Asia and South America.
Fred has been married to Grace for 40 years and they have 4 adult children and three grandchildren. They enjoy hiking, biking and traveling.
Sherryann leads our hosting team. They will make you feel right at home on your first visit as you’re greeted warmly and given information to quickly understand where you fit in with what God is doing at Wellspring.
Deacon Vlad oversees Sunday morning Logistics and facilities. He also leads a Gospel Community group in the Monroe area with the support of his wife, Sherryann.
